The Nurture Ministry prioritizes programs which expand opportunities for non-competitive creative play within the congregation; offers team sports that develop skills and self-determination in a positive environment within the congregation and in the community. The 1750 Arts Ministry under the Nurture Ministry. Our vision is to provide opportunities grounded in our Divine Creator that stir imagination, provoke wonder, form faith, and invite transformation.
Secret Cupid (January 22 – February 12) For those who sign up, you or your family will be matched with another participant. For 3 weeks, you will give a gift. We will have a reveal on February 12 after worship.
JOCOME ( March 4) Do you love NaCoMe? Join us for a day of NaCoMe-like fun in the Jones Building. We will share meals, have gym games, arts and crafts, campfire songs, and of course, late-night dancing, and more!
Food & Fellowship Shrove Dinner (February 21) Shrove refers to the confession of sins as a preparation for Lent and was a usual practice in Europe in the Middle Ages. It can also be referred to as Fat Tuesday or Carnival. Come enjoy good food, fellowship, and activities as we prepare for the Lenten season.
Spring Potluck (TBD) We will provide the fried chicken, so bring the sides or desserts to share. We will gather after church in Montgomery Hall and the gym for food and fellowship.
Heat, light, warmth, sun, growth, burning, crackle, fire! This exhibition had submissions from members of all ages and mediums. Their prompt was to create a work of art inspired by the element of fire. Anne Bradley Thomas prompted the work with a podcast of ideas, meaning-making, and examples of other artists inspired by the element.
