Our Advent Worship Series: A Weary World Rejoices

As Advent begins, the world around us seems evermore tumultuous, threatening the safety of God’s beloved children in our city and across the globe. The tumult taxes our minds, souls, and spirits, bringing a type of weariness that is hard to shake. We will learn from the Biblical witness how our ancestors in the faith navigated questions like ours amid the turmoil of their times, and we will wrestle with how we may faithfully claim that in Christ, a weary world rejoices.

Festival of Christmas

Idlewild Presbyterian Church presents the Festival of Christmas, a celebration of the music of the season! Our choir and festival orchestra will lead us on a journey of Advent and Christmas music anchored by a performance of John Rutter’s monumental “Gloria!”. We will be joined by members of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and the Memphis Brass Quintet and feature organist, Gary Beard. This is a free event, held in our historic sanctuary. We hope you will join us for this joyful evening! Childcare will be available.

A place where all who enter find a home.

What We Believe

We bring different questions, and we carry different burdens.
But every Sunday, we worship together as one.
