Small group ministries at Idlewild help to form and to grow faith through Christian friendships.
All women of the church are Presbyterian Women when they come through the doors. It is a multi-generational way to expand your circle of faithful friends.
Presbyterian Women’s Purpose: Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study to support the mission of the church worldwide to work for justice and peace and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.
The Idlewild Gay-Straight Fellowship welcomes all LGBTQIA and allies for fellowship, education, and outreach at our potluck on the 4th Sunday of each month. We represent Idlewild at the Mid-South Pride Festival and Parade, Outflix Film Festival, and other local events. Our goal is to build strong relationships within our church family, provide a safe space for discussion, and continue to educate our congregation and the larger community. We love to spread the message that Idlewild is an affirming and inclusive faith community. For more information, contact Chad Braddock.
Idlewild is putting together a group for 2023’s Mid-South Pride Parade. We will begin with set up our booths on Friday, June 3 from 2-6 PM. We will meet for the parade on Saturday, June 4 around 12:30 to march. Both the beginning of the parade and the festival will take place at Robert Church Park near Beale Street.
If you are interested in being a part of the parade, reach out to Mark Jones.
