Director for Young Adult Ministry
Young Adults make up nearly a third of the membership
at Idlewild Presbyterian Church. From worship to study,
contemplating scripture to serving our community, there's a lot here to draw you closer to God!
Both young adult specific and inter-generational, meet either monthly or quarterly for food and fun (one even has childcare available!). Some meet in-home but most are in restaurants. Great way for new folks to meet some people! Contact Anne at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested.
YOUNG PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN
An informal group for young women (late 20s-early 30s). Meets monthly for Bible study and spiritual formation, in a relaxed environment for fellowship and reflection. Location and times vary. Contact Kristen Murphy, email@example.com
YOUNG ADULT MEN FELLOWSHIP, 2nd Thursday of the month and Monthly YOUNG ADULT FELLOWSHIP EVENTS. Contact: Sarah Wolf, Director for Young Adult Ministry, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Serving God and Your Community
Idlewild has multiple ways to serve God and your community. For a brief description of each, visit here. (Contact Associate Pastor for Outreach Margaret Burnett at email@example.com. More Than A Meal and Adopt-A-School are especially suited for young adults.
MORE THAN A MEAL (MTAM)
A typical Thursday evening at MTAM begins when guests join members in setting up tables and making coffee.Members can choose to sit and talk with guests or to serve the meals. Every Thursday at 5:30 p.m. (A worship service for guests and workers is held at 5:00 in the Trippeer Chapel, too.)
TUTORING, READING & MENTORING
Our Adopt-A-School program serves children and teachers at a neighborhood public school, Idlewild Elementary. Members tutor students in reading and math, mentor those who need a little more direction, or read to kindergarten classes. Contact Kathy James at 405-5332 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
From our pottery studio (open Wednesday Evenings) to a photography class to our recreation programs, young adults are involved in many ways. If you need help discerning your place please contact Anne Apple, 901-726-4681 ext. 43 or email@example.com.
